Robin was the girl next door; we went to school together from 2nd grade all the way through graduation. Her older brother was Ross, who was seven years older than us, which to me was an enormous age gap… I thought Ross was old… and tall! Ross gave me advice at the bus stop once; he told me to enjoy being in school, because high school would go by in the blink of an eye. He was right. I looked up to him a lot.
I was lucky to see him at my 20 year high school reunion a couple of summers ago; I didn’t recognize him, because he didn’t look older or taller than me anymore. He was still gregarious and friendly and I wish I had spent more time with him or bought him a drink or something.
Robin announced that he had suddenly on March 18; he was 45 years old. He was a member of the Sight Life Donor Program, he continues to be a blessing. I’m sorry that I did not attend the memorial yesterday, but we keep Darci, Lawrence and Sherrie, Joshua, Dezmond, Courtney, Robin, Ryan and the rest of his family in our prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto Ross, o Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
