Phởlava

Phở is so important here in Seattle (especially in my neighborhood, the Rainier Valley) that some people are rapping about it.  That’s DJ Sabzi from the big Blue Scholars.  He’s not Vietnamese, and neither am I, but you have to understand:  phở belongs to all of us.

I’m a little surprised about the song; it’s a little more flava than I like.  Ok, it’s way too much flava.  But the video went to all my phởavorite spots.

Look, here’s an article about the song, and the townfolk kickstarter campaign that it accompanies.

If you come to Seattle, don’t skip the phở.  It’s good all up and down the West Coast, as is the banh mi.  The teriyaki phenomenon in Seattle is still important, but I wonder if these are its twilight days.
